Project: Music Man Square - Mason City, Iowa

Client: Boxwood Architects, Seattle, WA and Bergland+ Cram Architects, Mason City, IA

Completed: 2001

This project was built as a tribute to Mason City native, Meredith Willson, composer, writer and lyricist of “The Music Man”. The building houses music education and performance spaces, a Children’s Exploratorium, a conservancy, two theatres and community rooms.

A block-long streetscape that replicates the building facades from the Music Man movie of 1966 stretches diagonally through the building.
